Our commitment to you in 2025/26

We’ve published our Performance Improvement Plan for 2025/26, setting out how we aim to continue improving our services and stronger outcomes for residents, businesses and communities.

Despite ongoing challenges for public services, we remain determined to continue working smarter, listening more and focussing on changes that make a real difference.

Chair of the Governance and Audit Committee, Cllr Declan Lynch, said: “This plan reflects both our ambition and our accountability to the people we serve. We are proud of the progress made so far, but we know there is more to do. Our goal is not only to meet expectations but to exceed them.”

The plan was shaped by feedback from residents, staff and community partners. Key priorities include:

  • Improving the quality of council services.
  • Setting clear targets and measuring progress.
  • Building stronger partnerships and encouraging inclusive growth.

Every decision will focus on value for money and community benefit.
