Get ready for the Christmas Switch On
This year's festive programme will get underway with our annual Christmas Lights Switch On event, taking place in Market Square, Lisburn on Thursday 20th November from 6pm.

We’ve planned a magical evening for all the family to kick-start the season. Meet pre-parade entertainers, enjoy lively music from the main stage and follow a sparkling enchanted walk to end the night. Local radio DJ Frank Mitchell will be on stage, keeping the celebrations fun and full of energy.
The star of the show will be our fabulous real Christmas tree, twinkling in front of the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum. The Mayor and Santa will flip the switch to light it up, along with festive lights across the city, spreading Christmas cheer for everyone to enjoy.
Speaking about the event the Mayor, Alderman Amanda Grehan, said: “Our Christmas Switch On is always popular and I’m looking forward to welcoming everyone to this wonderful event. There will be a great festive atmosphere and families are encouraged to come along, sing carols and enjoy the evening.”
Local schools and community groups will take part in the event including the enchanted walk, which will make its way from Market Square to Castle Gardens for a preview of the spectacular Lisburn Light Trail.
This event will be inclusive with a BSL signer on stage, an accessible area for those with additional needs and a quiet SEN area within our museum.
