Whatever you’re facing, a Samaritan will face it with you

During 2022, over 600 people in Northern Ireland volunteered their time to Samaritans.

  • NI volunteers answered more than 115,000 calls for help.
  • These calls totalled 30,000 hours.
  • Nearly half of these calls related to mental health.

We recently installed a specially-designed bench at Lagan Valley Island, Lisburn as part of a council initiative to provide an area of reflection for friends and families bereaved through suicide. A number of local charities consulted with us on the project, including Samaritans, and we hope that it will provide a place of some solace for those who are grieving.
