LCCC Residents' Magazine : winter 2023

Guess how much we love Lisburn?

Lisburn’s new Guess How Much I Love You trail has proved to be a first–class visitor attraction for the city.

The trail was inspired by the world-famous children’s picture book, "Guess How Much I Love You", written by lifelong resident of Lisburn Sam McBratney and illustrated by Anita Jeram.

Two self-led digital trails now animate the city centre and local parks where you can view a beautiful bronze sculpture, benches and brass rubbing plaques depicting images from the book. You can even hear the story read aloud by the author himself!

Situated in Sam’s home town, the trail is a lasting legacy to the success of a book that has sold more than 55 million copies worldwide, and been translated into 57 languages.

Throughout 2024, we will launch a number of pop-up events featuring ‘Guess-themed’ performances, illustration and arts workshops to complement the trails, along with education talks for schools. In the meantime, the app is available for download from Google Play and Apple App Store.
