Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is seeking views on its draft Land & Property Asset Management Strategy. The strategy sets out the principles and procedures the Council will use to strategically manage its land and property assets, while supporting service delivery, community outcomes and statutory obligations. Your feedback will help shape how the Council manages and develops its estate over the coming years.
About the consultation
The draft strategy has been developed to provide a clear framework for the management of Council land and property assets. It is intended to:
- align the land and property portfolio with the Council’s corporate vision and service delivery objectives
- support the provision of safe, secure and high-quality buildings and facilities
- set out a vision and action plan for managing and developing the estate over a 5–10 year period
- inform revenue and capital investment planning and forecasting
- outline management arrangements and resources needed to implement the Asset Management Plan
- define high-level performance requirements
- provide a flexible framework that can be reviewed annually as needs change
The strategy has also been drafted to align with relevant legislation, Council strategies, policies and the Corporate Plan.
Why your views matter
This consultation is an opportunity for residents, organisations, community groups and other interested stakeholders to comment on the draft strategy and help ensure it reflects local needs and priorities. The Council is particularly interested in views on:
- the overall principles of the draft strategy
- whether there are any strategic issues not currently considered
- whether the proposed methodology and procedures for managing Council land and property are appropriate
- any additional commentary or observations on the draft strategy
