Lisburn & Castlereagh PCSP Equality and Disability Action Plan

Lisburn & Castlereagh Policing & Community Safety Partnership

Policing and Community Safety Partnerships (or PCSPs) are statutory bodies established under Part 3 and Schedules 1 and 2 of the Justice Act (Northern Ireland) 2011 (the Justice Act).  Section 21 of the Justice Act outlines the functions of PCSPs.

The Northern Ireland Act 1998, Schedule 9 2 (1) states that once a public authority is designated for the purposes of Section 75, a public authority shall, before the end of the period of 6 months, beginning with the establishment of the authority, submit a scheme to the Equality Commission.

The Disability Discrimination Act 1996  Section 49B places a duty on public authorities to prepare a disability plan outlining how it proposes to have due regard to promote positive attitudes towards disabled persons and the need to encourage participation by disabled persons in public life.

I would therefore wish to advise that a copyof the Lisburn & Castlereagh Policing and Community Safety Partnership draft equality scheme and draft disability action plans can be viewed or downloaded by selecting the links below.
