Mayor’s Colour Run

Our team organise a Colour Run on behalf of the Mayor and their nominated charity each year.  It takes place in April or May.

LCCC Sport Lisburn and Castlereagh Sports Awards 2024 - nominations now closed

Sport Lisburn & Castlereagh has paid tribute to local sporting talent during the 2024 Sports Awards sponsored by Draynes Farm. 
This year’s event shined a light on disability sport with interviews from special guests visually impaired archer, Tony Barclay MBE and disability golfer, Mark Clougherty. 

Broadcaster, Claire McCollum hosted the evening and helped showcase the amazing achievements and inspirational stories behind each award winner.

The winners included:

  • School Sports Team of the Year - Wallace HS Boys' Hockey Team
  • Junior Sports Club of the Year - Phoenix Basketball Club U18 Team
  • Junior Sports Personality of the Year - Eoghan McQuillan
  • Disability Sports Team of the Year - Lisburn Distillery Warriors
  • Sports Person with a Disability of the Year - Sean McCartan
  • Senior Sports Club of the Year - Lisburn Rugby Men's 1st XI Team
  • Sports Club of the Year - Lisburn Cricket Club
  • Sports Coach of the Year - Peter Stewart
  • Senior Sports Personality of the Year - Jessika Robson
  • Alison Slater Junior Merit Award - Ellie Tennyson, Oscar Hall & Rheanna McGlinchey
  • David Edwards Senior Merit Award - Jennifer Thompson, Glen Culbert & Rob Giles

 

Santa Dash

Each December at Lough Moss Leisure Centre we host a Santa Dash to raise money for the Mayor’s Charity. 

The entry fee is £5 and will include the provision of a Santa Hat and a selection box for each participant.

Business Games

These are a great team building opportunity for businesses across Lisburn & Castlereagh!

The challenge includes a wide range of activities, including dodgeball, pickleball and tenpin bowling. Games are open to everyone and suitable for all levels of fitness.

At each game stage there will be Cup and Plate winners with the ‘Business Champions’ being crowned at the end of all three stages.

Applications for the 2026 games will open in January 2026. Please keep an eye out on the Be Active Stay Active Facebook page for updates.

 

Training courses for sports clubs and coaches

Local sports clubs and coaches can benefit from a timetable of specialised training courses taking place each financial year. These courses will equip clubs with the skills to develop their organisation and get the best out of their players and athletes.
