Service updates - Adverse weather

PAGE UPDATED: Friday 3rd October 2025 at 4:29pm

Due to Storm Amy, the following service disruptions will take place:

Parks and open spaces

Our parks and open spaces will close from 2pm on Friday 3rd October until 12 midnight on Saturday 4th October. This includes all pitches and golf courses.

We will assess our parks and open spaces before they are reopened so please keep checking this page and our social media for more information on reopening.

Household Recycling Centres

Our three household recycling centres will close at 2.30pm on Friday 3rd October and reopen as normal on Monday 6th October.

Vitality Gyms

The gym at Billy Neill MBE Country Park will be closed due to restricted access to this facility due to the park closure.

All other council services and facilities are operating as normal.

Please be careful if you are out and about today during the high winds and rain.

Check this page regularly for updates.
