The council has unveiled its new community training calendar for September 2025 to March 2026. The calendar features a diverse range of workshops and accredited training to include topics such as:
• First aid and defibrillator training
• Safeguarding
• Completing funding applications
• Social media skills made easy
Councillor Tim Mitchell, Chair of the Communities & Wellbeing Committee, said:
“Our community groups are at the heart of what makes Lisburn & Castlereagh such a vibrant and supportive place to live. The new training calendar forms part of the Council’s ongoing commitment to supporting and empowering local groups, ensuring they can continue to deliver activities and services that benefit residents across the area.
We are proud to deliver this free programme of support that is both relevant and accessible and I would encourage those who are interested to sign up early to secure their place. All sessions are free of charge and open to members of community and voluntary groups. “
