Fast-track your way into a rewarding career in the local transport sector. The Taxi Academy provides professional training and support for those seeking to obtain a Taxi Driver Licence. Successful participants will also gain direct connections to employment opportunities in the area.
Who can apply?
Candidates must meet the following criteria:
- Be a resident of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area
- Aged 21 or over
- Unemployed or under-employed and ready to take u employment
- Meet all DVA criteria including
- Hold a current, full, clean category B driving licence for a minimum of 3 continuous years and hold a current NI driving licence number
- Satisfy eligible good repute rules ‘fit and proper person standards’
- Pass group 2 medical driving standards
- Available for training, assessment, and practical driving sessions
