Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is calling on residents and visitors to dive into an exciting nine-day celebration of music, culture and community as the Lisburn and Castlereagh Fleadh Fringe Festival launches from 1st – 9th August 2026.
Running alongside Fleadh Cheoil na hÉireann in Belfast (2nd – 9th August), the Fringe Festival brings an energetic programme of live music, dance, heritage, workshops and family fun, offering even more ways to celebrate this landmark week.
From heritage talks and multicultural celebrations to hands-on craft workshops and standout performances, there’s something for everyone. Highlights include:
- 1st August: Heritage talks and a Multi-Cultural Celebration Event
- 3rd – 7th August: Daily Celtic craft activities
- 5th August: Candlelight Cathedral Irish Music Showcase with TRÚ (supported by Tia Bow)
- 7th – 8th August: The flagship Lisburn and Castlereagh Fleadh Fringe Festival
- 8th August: Heritage Road: Passport to the Fleadh & Celtic Knot Willow Making
- 9th August: Set Dancing Workshop
- Plus: an Irish Dancing spotlight exhibition running throughout the week
The festival’s centrepiece takes over the city on Friday 7th and Saturday 8th August, transforming Market Square, Bow Street and Castle Gardens into a vibrant hub of free entertainment. Expect live music, dance, street performers, artisan markets, food experiences, family activities, and plenty of surprises for all ages.
Designed to showcase the very best of Lisburn and Castlereagh, the programme blends heritage, creativity and community spirit, inviting people to explore local venues, discover new experiences and celebrate culture together.
