Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council will lead a business and investment mission to London later this month, aimed at attracting inward investment, strengthening commercial partnerships and creating new economic opportunities for the region.

The Business & Investment Showcase will bring together investors, business leaders and industry stakeholders from across Greater London with companies and representatives from the Lisburn and Castlereagh area.

The event, themed Powering Growth: Partnerships for Investment, forms part of the Council’s wider economic development programme focused on supporting business growth, increasing investment and promoting long-term economic prosperity across the council area.

Rather than a standalone event, the initiative is part of a wider programme of activity designed to strengthen trade relationships and convert engagement into tangible economic outcomes.

Alongside the main showcase at the Tower of London, a dedicated London Trade Programme will enable participating local businesses to meet directly with prospective partners, investors and customers, supporting the development of new commercial opportunities and international connections.

Part funded through the Local Economic Partnership (LEP) in partnership with the Department for the Economy and Invest NI, the London Trade Programme aims to strengthen export capability and support businesses to access new markets.

The London mission is part of an ongoing programme of trade activity across Northern Ireland, the Republic of Ireland and Europe, including an upcoming ROI Trade Programme and a European trade mission planned for autumn 2026. Both are part funded through the LEP and provide a strong pipeline of opportunities for businesses to expand internationally.

Strategically positioned on the A1 Belfast-Dublin Economic Corridor, Lisburn and Castlereagh continues to offer strong connectivity, a skilled workforce and significant potential for business expansion.

Mayor of Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council, Amanda Grehan, said:

“This programme allows us to directly engage with investors and industry leaders, highlighting the opportunities that exist across our council area and the strength of our local economy.

“We are committed to ensuring Lisburn and Castlereagh continues to grow as a competitive, connected and attractive place to invest, work and do business.”

Chair of the Council’s Regeneration and Growth Committee, Cllr Claire Kemp, said:

“Lisburn and Castlereagh is home to around 5,000 businesses, many of which currently operate solely within Northern Ireland.

“Through this programme, we are working closely with ambitious local companies that are keen to grow their businesses, develop new trade relationships and explore opportunities in wider markets.

“This mission is about creating meaningful connections that can support long-term economic growth and deliver real benefits for our local economy and communities.”

Local business representative Jonathan Holmes, from Creative Composites, will join Council representatives as part of the London showcase programme, highlighting the innovation and export potential of businesses across the Lisburn and Castlereagh area.
