Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is celebrating Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) with a packed programme of free events.

GEW will be celebrated in the UK and in over 200 countries from 17th to 23rd November 2025 and the theme for this year is “Together We Build”.

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s GEW programme this year includes masterclasses, workshops and events to support businesses at all stages of development, including those who are considering whether entrepreneurship is right for them.

Councillor Claire Kemp, Regeneration & Growth Chair said: “We are very proud to be able to offer another varied programme of educational events and networking opportunities during Global Entrepreneurship Week, and beyond.

“The programme is reflective of the demand there is across the council area for information and support to start, develop and grow local enterprises. The pre-start up workshops – such as Monday’s ‘Time to Work for Yourself?’ masterclass – are testament to the growing interest in self-employment we are seeing on a local level.

“Established businesses have plenty to choose from as well, including the launch of the LCCC Annual Entrepreneur’s Network events taking place in Café Vic Ryn, Lisburn on Tuesday, which will see social media influencer and guest speaker, Fiona McCartan, supporting businesses with her expertise and knowledge to build their brand on social media.

“Businesses can then understand and explore the benefits of artificial intelligence with the 'AI: Supercharge your Business Growth' workshop in Castlereagh Hills Golf Club on Wednesday morning.

“Whether you are curious about going into business, have just started out, or are already running one, I would urge you to check out the GEW week programme of events at the links below and get involved.”

GEW also sees the Go Succeed Ultimate Pitch final taking place on Wednesday 19th November. While you wait to see if LCCC heat winner Katie Willoughby takes the overall prize, you can support her to win an additional funding boost for her business by voting in the People’s Choice poll. You have until noon on Tuesday 18th November, and you can vote at this link: https://go-succeed.com/theultimatepitch/
