Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) is delighted to announce the launch of the Into Employment Programme. Funding for this programme has been provided by the Department for Communities through the Lisburn and Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership (LMP). The Into Employment Programme is open to residents of the Lisburn and Castlereagh council area who are economically inactive.
The Lisburn and Castlereagh LMP will deliver this employability programme under the LMP Action Plan 2022-2023. It aims to improve fairness in the labour market by supporting those who are economically inactive overcome barriers to securing employment by supporting local people back into education and work at this challenging time.
The programme will support and connect people who are unemployed with accredited qualifications, work placements and employment opportunities with local employers. This will enable participants to develop their employability and interpersonal skills while ensuring a career pathway. Participants will have their own bespoke action plan with mentoring support throughout their training and 12 week work placement.
Lisburn and Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership, in conjunction with local Training Provider People 1st, are looking for local people who are long term unemployed and interested in this employment intervention to support them back into employment.
Alderman Allan Ewart, Chair of the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Development Committee said “The Lisburn and Castlereagh LMP have developed a solution to remove barriers to employment for some of our local residents. The Labour Market Partnership initiative proves that when we work in partnership we can do great things. This employment programme is going to support local people with bespoke, individual employment interventions to identify their career paths and gain employment which will create a more fair and balanced Labour Market within the Lisburn and Castlereagh City Council Area.”
