The Harry Ferguson Heritage Festival enjoyed a successful return on Saturday 15 August 2026, attracting visitors from across Northern Ireland and beyond to celebrate the life, work and legacy of local engineering pioneer Harry Ferguson, with a special appearance on the day by Harry's granddaughter.

Held at the Harry Ferguson Farmstead, the festival showcased a packed programme of family-friendly activities, heritage displays, vintage vehicle exhibitions, live demonstrations and entertainment, highlighting the achievements of one of the region's most influential inventors while boosting tourism and supporting the local economy.

The organisers received a Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Tourism Major Event Grant which helped support the delivery of the festival. The funding forms part of the Council's commitment to developing high-quality tourism events that attract visitors, enhance the area's reputation and generate economic benefits for local businesses.

Visitors had the opportunity to learn more about Harry Ferguson's groundbreaking contributions to engineering and agriculture, while enjoying a range of attractions designed to appeal to all ages. The event provided an excellent platform to showcase local heritage and strengthen community pride in one of the area's most celebrated historical figures.

Alderman James Baird, Regeneration and Growth Committee Chair, said: "The Harry Ferguson Heritage Festival is a fantastic example of how local events can celebrate our rich heritage while bringing significant tourism and economic benefits to the area.

“Through our Tourism Major Event Grant programme, the Council is proud to support events that encourage visitors to explore our destinations, spend time in our communities and contribute to local businesses.
