This year we’re making it even easier to shop local with free weekend car parking at our council owned car parks every Saturday and Sunday from 6th December 2025 until 31st January 2026.

- Queens Road, Lisburn
- Barrack Street, Lisburn
- Smithfield Square, Lisburn
- Governors' Road, Lisburn
- Laganbank, Lisburn
- Longstone Street, Lisburn
So there’s no better time to shop local and support local traders and businesses.
And don’t forget that there is free parking already available in other locations across the whole council area too!
In Lisburn from Saturday 29th November 2025 to Saturday 10th January 2026, Infrastructure Minister Liz Kimmins has introduced an on-street car parking trial within the Controlled Parking Zones (CPZs). During this time shoppers and visitors will have up to one hour to return to their cars following the expiry of their paid parking event without fear of receiving a parking ticket.
