A leading performance psychologist and renowned author who is set to address an audience of business entrepreneurs in Lisburn later this month will tell them how to ‘Live Well, Perform Better’.

This in-person networking event, hosted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) will mark the launch of the 2023 LCCC Entrepreneurs Network Series. Supported by Danske Bank, Electric Ireland and the Management and Leadership Network, the free breakfast session will take place at Lagan Valley Island on Thursday 19th January from 8.00am to 9.30am.

The Entrepreneurs Network is a free networking and discussion breakfast forum for small businesses based in the Council area. A series of monthly events offer practical information aimed at addressing key business issues and promoting local business development.

Gerry Hussey will be joined by Caragh Hamilton, a member of the Northern Ireland women’s football team and David Moore, Head of Wellbeing & Digital Learning at Danske Bank.

Since 2003, Gerry has been an international sports performance consultant and has worked with a range of elite athletes in all-Ireland finals, world cups and golf majors - right through to the Olympic Games. He focuses on empowering business and sporting audiences through his talks – helping to renew their passion, focus and energy. His book, 'Awaken Your Power Within' is an international bestseller.

Caragh, a key member of the game-changing Northern Ireland Women’s Football Team, is an elite performer in her own right who demonstrated exceptional resilience in recovering from a cruciate ligament injury in the summer of 2021. Caragh will share her insights on consistently defying the odds.

David Moore leads on wellbeing and digital learning at Danske Bank. David will provide the local employer’s perspective and share how his holistic, people-centric approach to supporting colleagues has enabled the organisation to thrive, highlighting the importance of staff wellbeing in any business.

Alderman Allan Ewart MBE, LCCC’s Development Committee Chairman, said: “Having Gerry, Caragh and David join us for this free breakfast event is a ‘champion’ way to start the new year. Their strong careers have opened up great opportunities for them. Together they have helped benefit local business and sporting professionals in their own unique ways.

“Caragh was the youngest-ever player to make a senior debut for the Northern Ireland team when she was only 15 years old. Gerry has plenty of experience behind him, having worked with the Irish Boxing team in Beijing as well as during the London Olympic Games. David is an inspiring business leader and his ‘people first’ approach to digital learning and wellbeing is remarkable. I look forward to hearing more on the day.

“I’d recommend this free networking event to everyone – whether you are looking to fulfil personal or professional goals or want to make good on some new year resolutions. I am sure you will leave the Island Hall feeling revived, inspired and ready to succeed in 2023. Also a huge thank you to our event partners for sponsoring this session.”
