Construction and Civil Engineering Academy

Fully funded training for residents of Lisburn and Castlereagh.

Lisburn and Castlereagh Labour Market Partnership is proud to partner with SERC to deliver a free Construction and Civil Engineering Academy for individuals seeking to enter employment within the construction industry.

This 10 day academy provides high-quality training, practical experience, and a recognised qualification to help participants take their first steps into this fast growing sector.

Academy breakdown

Days Description
Days 1 to 3 CMI Level 3 Award in Project Management
Day 4 Introduction to Building Surveying
Day 5 Introduction to Computer Aided Design (CAD)
Days 6 to 10 Practical workshop - Build a bridge

Entry Requirements

To join the academy, applicants must:

  • reside within the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area
  • be 18 years of age or over
  • be economically inactive, unemployed, underemployed, or at risk of redundancy

Participants will gain

  • a CMI Level 3 Award in Project Management
  • practical construction and engineering experience
  • skills aligned with current employer needs
