A leading performance, empowerment and wellbeing expert will be in Lagan Valley Island this week to share his expertise on “being and performing well”.
This in-person networking event, hosted by Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council (LCCC) will mark the launch of the 2026 LCCC Entrepreneurs Network Series. Supported by Danske Bank and the Management and Leadership Network, the free breakfast session will take place at Lagan Valley Island on Thursday 22nd January from 8:15am to 10:00am.
The Entrepreneurs Network is a free networking and discussion breakfast forum for small businesses based in the LCCC area. A series of monthly events offer practical information aimed at addressing key business issues and promoting local business development.
Keynote speaker Alan Kerins draws his expertise from a varied and high performing career path as an elite athlete, social entrepreneur, philanthropist and legacy architect. He is joined at this event by Vivian McKinnon, an acclaimed speaker and resilience expert.
Alan enjoyed a successful sporting career as a dual player for Galway, as a hurler between 1997 and 2011, and a footballer between 2001 and 2004. As a philanthropist he has raised over €20 million for vital and lifesaving projects and programmes worldwide. He has built several multi-award-winning social enterprises and led multiple campaigns.
Vivian is the founder of Hydro-Ease, Northern Ireland’s premier flotation therapy centre. Speaking openly about her remarkable personal journey has led to her being invited to share her story with audiences around the world, including on the TED Talk stage.
Councillor Claire Kemp, Regeneration and Growth Chair, said: “Welcoming Alan and Vivien to Lagan Valley Island is the perfect way to kick off 2026 for the Entrepreneurs Network.
“Alan has raised millions to help communities in need, and led campaigns that planted three million trees, trained over 10,000 families in sustainable agriculture, and brought over 130 elite athletes on legacy missions that transcend the playing field.
“Vivian has used her own adverse life experiences to help others - sharing the benefits she found through flotation by opening her own flotation centre, travelling the world to share her story of healing, and dedicating her life to professional therapeutic practice.
“They have both achieved incredible things with a combination of hard work and human compassion. Everyone who attends will take away something highly impactful from what they have to share, so I urge entrepreneurs in Lisburn and Castlereagh not to miss this event.”
