* NEW TICKETING SYSTEM FOR OFF-STREET CAR PARKS*
Please note that from the 21st January 2019 all Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council-owned pay & display off-street car parks will have an updated ticketing system. To receive a pay & display ticket from an off-street car park meter, users will be required to input their vehicle registration number. Your registration number will then be printed on the parking ticket to be displayed inside your vehicle.
From the 4th April 2016 Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council has responsibility for Off-Street Car Parks within its area.
There are changes to the charges from Monday 4th April 2016 and these will continue until further notice. The Council is currently developing an off-street car parking strategy which may amend the proposed tariffs. Off-Street car parks which are currently free to park in, will not be affected at this time.
Under a Pilot Scheme in 2014/15 the Minister for Regional Development introduced the £1 for five hours fee in eight Off-Street car parks within the Council area. Under its new powers Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council agreed at a meeting of Council on 23 February 2016 to implement the charge of £1 for three hours until further notice in the following Off-Street Car Parks:
|Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council Car Park Tariffs||Normal Tariff||Special Discount Tariff|
|LISBURN||Per Hour Tariff||3 Hours for £1|
|Smithfield Square East||70p||Yes|
|Main Street, Moira||Free||No|
|Ballynahinch Street, Hillsborough||40p||Yes|
The tariffs displayed in the aforementioned charged Off-Street car parks will remain in the event of the £1 for 3 hours charge not being selected.
