Community Centres

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Community Services operate and manage four community centres across the council area.

In addition to a dedicated and experienced team of staff, Community Services can provide community groups with practical resources, including transport,equipment hire, administration support and sign posting.

Resource Centre

The Community Resource centre provides various items of  equipment for hire to clubs, associations and groups to assist groups in fulfilling the community, recreational or educational needs of  members of the local community.  


Our staff can assist your grant aided group with some basic administrative services such as photocopying, binding and laminating.

Community Transport

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council’s Community Services provide minibuses to all bona fide clubs, organisations, community groups, youth groups, schools etc.  The vehicles are available to assist groups in fulfilling the community, recreational or educational needs of their members.

Community Services has 5 minibuses available for use by community and voluntary groups based within the Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council area. Groups must provide their own driver.

The Council's 5 community minibuses (fitted with seatbelts) can be booked for community outings and events. Drivers must be aged 25 years or over and have been driving for more than two years.

2 x 14 seater minibus15 seater minibus and 17 seater bus (wheelchair access)

For those you wish to hire the 17 seater (wheelchair access) the driver must have completed MIDAS training.  The training usually costs over £80, however, the council will charge all applicants (new or refresher) £20.
