Guess how much I love you, public art and literature trail.

Purpose of the trail

The world-renowned book Guess How Much I Love You was written by Sam McBratney, a lifelong resident of Lisburn, and beautifully illustrated by Anita Jeram. The council wanted to honour Sam who passed away in 2020. His book has sold more than 55 million copies worldwide, and been translated into 57 languages.

Thanks to £132,000 of funding from Tourism Northern Ireland we have created this bespoke interactive family-friendly Guess How Much I Love You trail in the city centre.

Other attractions to look out for

As you enjoy the self-led trail you will venture down Haslem's Lane where you will see a fantastic spray-painting of a number of the book’s iconic images. Painted by street artist, Dean Kane from Visual Waste this project is part of our ‘Awakening the Gateways’ to Lisburn initiative funded by the Department for Communities.

A spray painted Little Nutbrown Hare and Big Nutbrown Hare alongside a quote from the book saying, 'I love you across the river and over the hills'
