Dedicated council refuse collection vehicles will be parked at three locations on:

to enable householders to dispose of additional recycling and household waste, which may accumulate over the festive period. Commercial waste will not be accepted for disposal.

Locations:

  • Dundonald International Ice Bowl 10am -12pm
  • Lagan Valley LeisurePlex, Lisburn 10am – 12pm
  • Maghaberry Community Centre, Maghaberry 1pm – 3pm

How do I use this service?

Step 1. Separate your waste materials at home, there will be a collection vehicle for recyclables and a collection vehicle for bagged household waste. Glass cannot be accepted.

Step 2. Choose the closest location to your home.

Step 3. Arrive at the site and join the back of the queue as directed by the staff on-site, behind the refuse collection vehicles. You will be asked to show your ID at this stage.

Step 4. When you reach the top of the queue wait until you are called forward by a member of staff.

Step 5. When called forward you may exit your vehicle and will be directed to the correct vehicle to dispose of your recycling or household waste.

Only one resident should exit each vehicle. A maximum of 6 bags of household waste plus recycling will be accepted.

** Do not touch the refuse collection vehicles and follow all directions given**

Step 6. Return to your vehicle and leave the site as directed.

Please ensure that you follow social distancing and hygiene recommendations at all times while you are disposing of waste.

This will be a busy service; while we will endeavour to keep traffic flowing, you should expect to wait in a traffic queue.  Please only use this service if you cannot dispose of the waste through your normal kerbside collection service or at a Household Recycling Centre.
