As well as celebrate our eldest residents in Lisburn & Castlereagh, we have also welcomed our newest additions during the NI Centenary.

From May (the month of the NI Centenary) to August, the Registration team handed out over 300 bears to those who have registered a birth at Lagan Valley Island. 

As part of the initiative, the Council asked for photos of the bears in their new homes and one of those recieved was of Baby Isla whose Great Great Grandmother Elizabeth Jess also recieved a Centenary Coin. 

The family spans five generations and they were all invited to the Mayors Parlour to share their story with Deputy Mayor Councillor Tim Mitchell which you can watch in the video above.
