Beannchor Boosts Commitment to Lisburn

Beannchor Boosts Commitment to Lisburn

March 12, 2019

Lisburn & Castlereagh City Council is delighted that well-known hospitality group, Beannchor has increased its investment in the Council area to over £4.3 million.

Beannchor owns and operates many of Northern Ireland’s leading hospitality venues, including Belfast’s 5-star Merchant Hotel, Bullitt Hotel and eight Little Wing Pizzerias.

Lisburn Castlereagh offers a business-friendly location, with low commercial rates both of which were factors in the attraction of Lisburn Square to Beannchor.  This boutique area of Lisburn city centre is currently home to the Group’s Little Wings Pizzeria. Beannchor will open a new 8,000sq ft co-working space, Cubic CoWork following the completion of a £350,000 investment in April. The Group will also open a new £4m 52-bed hotel, The Haslem at Lisburn Square later this year.

Alderman William Leathem, Chairman of the Council’s Development Committee, speaking about this investment in Lisburn, said: “Everyone knows that high quality venues and Beannchor go hand in hand and we are delighted as a council to welcome the addition of these new businesses to our city.  Their investment shows confidence in our area and we look forward to officially welcoming them to our City.

“Beannchor’s variety of properties in Lisburn compliments our ‘Place Shaping’ agenda to grow the local economy in terms of retail, business and the night-time economy.  Our investment team at MIPIM will be highlighting these new developments, alongside our other well-known and international businesses like Coca-Cola, Assa Abloy and Montupet. The Council wishes Beannchor every success in Lisburn Castlereagh.”

James Sinton, Group Finance Director, Beannchor Group added: “We are proud to be bringing this significant investment to Lisburn, with the development of our new Cubic Co-Work concept, which we believe will foster and encourage a spirit of entrepreneurship in the city, alongside our exciting new hotel development, The Haslem, which will improve the accommodation offering in the heart of the city.

“We see great opportunity in the city of Lisburn; the success of our Little Wing Pizzeria at Lisburn Square showed that there is a clear demand for high quality hospitality venues in the city and gave us confidence in this investment.”
