Lisburn Town Trail

14 May, 2018 9:30

Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum

The Town Trail focuses on Lisburn’s Historic Quarter and the children learn about the great fires of Lisburn and which parts of the town survived. This tour fits in with the curriculum link: The World Around Us, as children identify characteristics of specific changes in time period, town structure and civic roles in
society.

The tour takes in Lisburn’s famous monuments, Lisburn Cathedral and graveyard, Castle House, Castle Gardens including the Wallace fountain and Sir Richard Wallace’s crest featured in stone work on Castle Street. An accompanying paper trail is completed using observation, investigation and discussion.

Trails take 45-90 minutes and can be booked by contacting the Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum on 028 9266 3377.
