Science Programme 2018: Victorian Inventions
14 May, 2018 9:30
Irish Linen Centre & Lisburn Museum
In celebration of Sir Richard Wallace’s Bicentenary, this year’s annual science programme focusses on Victorian inventions. The workshops are suitable for Foundation Stage to Key Stage 2 and last for 90 minutes but sessions are tailored to suit group needs.
Each workshop is accompanied by a workbook which utilises a number of quizzes and matching exercises to help children investigate inventions of the Victorian age. Children will have the opportunity to get active with Victorian themed experiments including: sound waves using string telephones, early moving images and optical illusions through a self-made thaumatrope. The session ends with a communication skills team challenge - using Morse code!
