Wheelie Box
The council is piloting a new wheelie box collection service for some households. The wheelie box service will enable households to recycle more materials every week and will divert additional waste away from landfill.
Addresses included in the wheelie box areas will receive a letter in advance to advise about the service and will be provided with all of the containers needed to use the new service.
Households included in the wheelie box areas will receive:
- A weekly collection of a wheelie box for recycling
- A weekly collection of a 23 litre food waste bin
- A fortnightly collection of a new slimmer landfill bin
Households should continue to use their fortnightly brown bin collection for garden waste, torn up pizza boxes, kitchen roll and cardboard egg boxes.

Roadshows
A series of local public roadshows will be held providing an opportunity to see the new containers and to ask questions about the service.
